Welcome to my learning blog

Form doing this course, I hope to improve my photography and build a good foundation for further study in photography.
My learning log will include projects, assignments and thoughts about learning experiences.

Project 12: positioning the harizon

For this project, I had to take a number of photographs of the harizon of a landscape at different positions. I took about 4 sets of photographs for this project, but finally decided on the ones below.

1st photograph
High harizon.
ISO 200, f/9, 1/500 sec.

2nd photograph
Harizon still too high.
ISO 200, f/9, 1/640 sec

3rd phtograph
Harizon is about half way.
ISO 200, f/9, 1/640 sec.

4th photograph
Harizon a little lower.
ISO 200, f/9, 1/100 sec.

5th photograph
Harizon lower still.
ISO 200, f/9, 1/600 sec

6th photograph
Harizon very low .
ISO 200, f/9, 1/800 sec.

I like photograph 5 the best, because the clouds seem tobe roll back over the forground.

Project 9: focal lengths

I took 3 photographs from the same position to demonstrate the effect of focal lengths. I only took 3 photographs because I've only have a 18-55mm lens at the moment.

18mm
ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/60 sec.

30mm.
ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/60 sec.

55mm.
ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/60 sec.

Project 6: fitting the frame to the subject

I decided to use a jar for this project. I was having problems trying come up with suitable subject.
My first photograph was taken without too much thinking about it. The othe threephotographs I took more care over.
1st photograph
ISO 200, f/3.5, 1/20 sec.
18mm.

2nd photograph
ISO 200, f/5, 1/20 sec,
40mm.

3rd photograph
ISO 200,f/5.6, 1/20 sec.
48mm.

4th photograph
ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/20 sec,
55mm

I liked the 2nd and 3rd photograph the best. The 4th photograph just filled the frame too much for my liking.
